Bernhard Heiliger | Deus ex machina

The sculpture by Bernhard Heiliger (b. 1915 in Stettin – d. 1995) incorporates abstract elements of technical symbolism. The multifaceted formal references are most effective when viewed from different perspectives. Along with Hans Uhlmann and Karl Hartung, whose works are also represented in Hanover’s urban space, Heiliger ranks among the most significant sculptors of the postwar period in Germany. “Deus ex machina” was the first sculpture conceptually placed as part of the “Skulpturenmeile.” » Location: Leibnizufer/Goethestraße
